About this piece
Every hole in the lid is drilled and filed by hand, which is why the spacing wanders slightly. Machine-pierced lids are perfectly regular and look it.

The interior takes a bed of ash or sand under the charcoal. Do not use it directly on wood — the feet help but the base still gets hot.
How it was made

Cast, hand-pierced — Kathmandu Valley, Nepal.

Block-printed cotton

Made by Patan metal workshop.

Care & keeping
Wipe with a dry cloth. A darkening patina is normal on hand-raised bronze and many owners prefer it; if you want it bright, use a little tamarind paste or a proprietary brass polish and buff dry. Never put it in a dishwasher.
