About this piece
Carved from a single block with the lid cut from the same piece, so the grain runs continuously across the join when it is closed. It is a small detail and it takes noticeably longer to do.
Finished with beeswax only. If the lid tightens in humid weather, leave it open for a day.

Care & keeping
Dust with a soft dry brush. Once or twice a year, wipe with a cloth barely damp with linseed or walnut oil. Keep away from radiators and direct sun, which will open the grain.
