About this piece
Pote is worn by married Nepali women and the green is the traditional colour, though the market in Indrachowk carries several hundred shades and most women mix them.
Each strand is threaded bead by bead onto silk. A seven-strand necklace is a couple of hours of work and the beads have to be sorted for size first or the strands sit unevenly.

Keep away from perfume and hairspray, which dull the glass. Store flat, not hanging, so the strands do not tangle.
