About this piece
The tree of life is the most demanding Mithila subject because the composition has to stay balanced while every gap fills with detail. Getting the density even across a sheet this size is the whole skill.
Pigments here are natural — lampblack, turmeric, indigo, red from kusum flower — bound with a little gum. They are less brilliant than acrylic and they age far better.

Keep out of direct sunlight and away from damp. Lokta is naturally insect-resistant and needs no treatment. Handle with clean, dry hands.
