About this piece
Every hole is burned rather than drilled, then opened by degrees while the maker plays and listens. That is the only way to tune bamboo, because no two culms have the same bore.
Six finger holes plus the blowing hole, in the north Indian bansuri layout. Beginners should start with the shortest.
Bamboo is seasoned for two years before boring. Unseasoned bamboo splits within months, which is what most cheap flutes are made from.

Care & keeping
Oil the bore with a little mustard or almond oil every few months. Do not leave in a hot car — bamboo splits along the grain.

Free tracked shipping worldwide, with no minimum. We pack and dispatch from Kathmandu within 1–2 business days. Nepal deliveries usually arrive in 1–2 days; international orders in 5–12 business days depending on your country's customs.
Import duties and taxes in your own country are not included and are payable by you.
